Description
A male America Anhinga with wings spread so they dry out. Anhingas feed underwater but their feathers are not waterproof. They will climb out of the water and spread their wings in the sun to dry them. The anhinga ( Anhinga anhinga), is sometimes called a snakebird, darter, American darter, or water turkey.
